My mini survAIval insight of the week: It’s Pl*AI time!
The other day, I was watching a YouTube video about the release of a new video game. The video captured the youthful excitement around it, and the general consensus seemed to be that this was a game that many had dreamed about since childhood. Now, players feel transported back to that age, eagerly anticipating its release.
The feeling of connection to the creative child we once were is an important one. As children, the mix of discovery, creativity, and pure fun felt limitless.
This is the sentiment now surrounding the release of new AI features. They have the power to put us in a state of openness and playfulness, offering a new avenue for our creativity to express itself. In a sense, we are witnessing a new “Second” renaissance in human history, one powered by these AI advancements.
If you don’t believe me, read below to see the new tools that Worldlabs and Google presented this week!
The chart of the week: Challenges of moving generative AI into production.
To address these issues, companies are turning to compound AI systems that combine multiple models and technologies.
Over 50% are using AI agents, and many are implementing techniques: multi-step chains (link together multiple specialized AI models to tackle more complex tasks in a cost-effective way), retrieval-augmented generation (allowing it to draw on relevant information to improve its outputs), and caching (semantic caching that groups similar queries can significantly speed up AI model responses and reduce inferencing costs).
As generative AI grows more sophisticated, latency is emerging as a critical concern. 56% of businesses report challenges with model and system latency, which will be crucial to manage as they build out their AI stacks.
