My mini survAIval insight of the week: “The best stories often come from improvisation”
The biggest mistake I ever made while directing audio-visual projects was to militarily avoid any changes made on set. Have everything thought out in the pre-production and follow the script line by line. I thought having everything meticulously planned was the key to success.
You can be a control freak (a.k.a. movie director) like Stanley Kubrick or David Fincher, but the good things captured in cinema normally come from the magic that is created in the moment trying to solve problems, trying new ideas that work in the given context (factors like actor chemistry and unexpected conditions can lead to creative breakthroughs.).
That is when “things” happen, we just have to believe in the overall process.
It happens the same in life. I spent years trying to stick to my grand plan. Strictly following a predetermined path can blind you to valuable opportunities.
In the AI automated future, flexibility is our new superpower. We will have to be adaptable and be willing to accept new (‘forced’) changes, and make the best from it.
So, whether you're on a film set or navigating life's twists and turns, remember: the best stories often come from improvisation.
The chart of the week
Adoption of AI (ChatGPT) per country:
Interesting insights:
Less than 50% of consumers are using AI tools. Even in the most tech-savvy countries.
The United States, often seen as a tech leader, is relatively low on the list at 23%, tied with Turkey and Australia.
English-speaking countries don't necessarily have higher adoption rates, contrary to what one might expect given ChatGPT's initial English focus.
European countries like Sweden, UK, France, and Germany are spread throughout the list, showing varied adoption rates.
The global south (countries like India, Morocco, UAE, Argentina, Brazil) seems to be embracing this technology more rapidly than many Western nations.
Saudi Arabia has the second-lowest adoption rate, which is interesting given its push for technological advancement in recent years.
